Nomads Outdoor Group “It’s like using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut: regulatory overkill that punishes responsible e-bike riders. The vanishingly small risk of an e-bike battery fire is part of a bigger problem and a bigger picture, which should be addressed holistically.”
Port Phillip Bicycle Users Group. “We have social rides for people using regular bikes or e-bikes, and often include a public transport component. The proposed ban would exclude e-bike users from some of our activities.”
Streets Alive Darebin “The States are now having to manage an issue that should have been picked up by the Commonwealth. However it is an overreach by the Victoria Government to ban e-bike from trains. DTP’s own documentation makes it clear it is non-compliant bikes that are the issue. “
